Kai Bowman is a dynamic, entrepreneurial leader with over 20 years of experience spanning operations, strategy, project management, and sales across industries such as manufacturing, education, banking, and non-profits. He has a proven track record of helping organizations meet their operational and financial objectives by leveraging key strengths in team leadership, persuasive communication, and creative problem-solving. Having lived as an expatriate in four different countries, Kai brings a unique perspective shaped by diverse professional experiences and cultural insights, allowing him to think beyond traditional strategy development.

Before founding Clutch Consulting, Kai served as the Chief Strategy Officer of the Michigan Black Business Alliance, where he played a pivotal role in growing an organization of 1,800+ members and securing over $11 million in direct funding. Prior to this, he was the Executive Director for Development in the City of Detroit Mayor’s Office, where he negotiated over $1 billion in real estate development deals and secured over $100 million in community benefits for the city. Kai holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor and earned a Master of Science in Finance and Development from New York University. Additionally, he completed an MBA in Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
